Photo booth rental questions · Lancaster, PA

Everything people ask, answered

The practical things, in one place, so you do not have to email us to find out how much space we need or what reserves a date. If your question is not here, it is a good one, so send it over.

Booking and dates

When to book, and what holds a date

How soon should we book?

As soon as you have the date. We hold a limited number of events per date, so availability moves around a lot. The most popular Saturdays are the first to go.

If your date is sooner than that, ask anyway. Openings happen, and it costs you nothing to find out.

What actually reserves our date?

A signed contract and a retainer: $500, plus tax, for a wedding, or half the total for any other event. Until both are done the date stays open to anyone else who asks, however good the conversation has been.

The balance is due one month before the event.

Can we add hours later?

Usually, as long as we know before the day. Extra hours are priced per booth and are listed on the pricing page.

What if our date moves?

Tell us as early as you can and we will do what we can with the new one. It comes down to whether we are already booked, which is why the earlier you tell us the better this goes.

Do you run more than one event a day?

Sometimes, but never more than we can staff properly. That is the whole reason we cap how many events we take per date rather than selling every hour we could.

On the day

Space, setup, and what we need from the room

How much space do you need?

Eight feet wide, eight feet deep, and eight feet high, on level ground. We run off battery packs, so we do not need an outlet from you. The backdrops themselves are seven and a half feet square, and the rest is room for guests to stand back.

If you are not sure the corner works, send a photo of it or the floor plan and we will tell you before you promise the spot to anyone.

How long does setup take?

We typically arrive around two hours before the booth opens, so the whole thing is up and tested well before your first guest sees it.

Does setup time count against our hours?

No. Your hours start when the booth opens to guests. Setting up and packing down is our time, not yours.

What happens if there is a gap in the night?

If the booth needs to sit idle between, say, cocktail hour and the reception, that is an hour of idle time at $150. It keeps the booth in place and staffed rather than us packing down and coming back in the middle of your event.

Can the booth go outside?

We would rather it did not, and we will say so plainly, but we do take outdoor events when the setup is right. Two things are not negotiable. There has to be cover overhead, which means a tent, an overhang, or something equivalent, and there has to be an indoor backup we can move to if the weather turns.

Sun, wind, and rain are all hard on the equipment and on the photographs. Tell us the spot you have in mind and we will tell you honestly whether it works.

Seen enough to ask about your date?

The photos

Prints, downloads, and who owns what

How many photos can our guests take?

As many as they like, and everyone in the photo gets a print every time. There is no per-guest limit and no cap on the number of sessions.

Do we get digital copies?

Yes. Guests can send their photos to themselves at the booth by text, email, or QR code, and you get an online gallery of everything from the event afterward.

The gallery has face detection, so a guest can find every photo of themselves in seconds. Downloads are free and there is no watermark on anything.

Can we get the photos without the print design on them?

Yes, and you get both. The gallery includes every photo with your design and the same photos clean, so they are usable for anything later.

Who owns the photos?

You do, and your guests do. Download them, print them, and post them. We may use a few for our own portfolio, and if you would rather we did not, say so and we will not.

The booths

Choosing one, and what comes with it

Which booth should we pick?

Tell us what the night is and roughly how many guests, and we will tell you which one we would put in that room and why. That is a two-minute answer and it is free.

All of them are on the pricing page with what they cost.

Do our guests have to use the AI booth?

No, and that is the point of it. Every guest chooses at the screen whether they want an AI version, and either way they keep the ordinary photograph. Nobody trades a real photo for a novelty.

Can we choose the backdrop?

Yes. Every booth except the Classic includes your pick of the whole collection, and the Classic comes with black or white. The full set is on the backdrops page.

Are props included, and can we skip them?

A standard set and a premium prop sign collection come with most of our booths, and the signs are chosen to suit the event rather than pulled from one bin.

If you would rather have no props at all, say so and the table will not appear. That is a real choice, and plenty of clients take it.

Venues and planners

Insurance, load-in, and who turns up

Are you insured, and can you send a certificate?

Yes. We carry insurance and can issue a certificate naming your venue as additionally insured whenever one is wanted. Send us the venue’s requirements and we will handle it directly with them.

Who actually turns up on the night?

An attendant, for the whole booking, not a drop-off. They run the booth, keep the line moving, and hand people their prints. The Keychain Booth comes with two, because somebody has to be assembling keychains while somebody else runs the booth.

What do you need from the venue?

Level ground and the eight by eight foot spot, and that is close to all of it. We run off battery packs, so we do not need power from you, and we bring the tables, the backdrop stand, and the lighting ourselves.

If your venue needs a load-in time, a COI, or anything else in writing, tell us who to send it to and we will deal with them rather than routing it through you.

Still have a question?

Ask it here and a person will answer it. If it turns out to be a common one, it will end up on this page.
